Ilauri Bajo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

€15.99
  • Country: Italy

  • Region: D’Abruzzo

  • Alcohol: 13.5% Vol

  • Variety: Montepulciano

Made with estate grapes from selected vineyards. The vineyards have stony and calcareous soil and are carefully managed to produce this classic wine. Following a temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel, the wine is aged for six months in large Slovenian oak barrels and ends its cycle with a short bottle rest. The name Bajo (Bay) comes from the town’s most important street, named after the hair colour of local horses.

This vibrant red from Abruzzo displays a violet colour and an intense bouquet of ripe red fruit, finely framed with spices. Ideal with barbecued meats and traditional Italian specialities such as lasagne.
